In the last Pre-season friendly before the start of the League campaign, the Dairymen took on the Rocks of St. Peter's in Roath, Cardiff. With St. Peter's having gained promotion and Llanharan having been relegated from the same league last year, this should have been an easy win for the side from the capital city. However Llanharan are a much changed side in terms of attitude and personnel, with new players and former players molding in to an exciting side. In a game of 3 20 minute thirds, both teams fielded their strongest team to start the game. The Black and Blues started the game like a steam train, with the forwards gaining good ground and providing the exciting backs with good quality front foot ball. Stand out ball carriers were Brandon Nelson, Owain Howe, who captained the team superbly and Louis Stansbury. In fact it was Louis Stansbury who opened the scoring with a strong run off a pass from Craig Burton. The extra points were added by Lee Davies. The second and third tries were added from some strong forward play, finished by Sam Llewellyn. Sam's hat trick try was scored after a run of 30m, however only 10m were made going forward. The other 20m were made by running across the field before colliding with the post! The last points were scored by Lee Davies, who again added the conversion. However there was still some defending to do for the last 3 minutes but with Llanharan's very own version of the kamikazi brothers(Chris and William Osborne) defending as if their lives depended on it, St. Peter's never looked like spoiling the party. Final score St. Peter's 17 Llanharan 24.
