Club Secretary Alan Jenkins has announced he is stepping back from the role due to ongoing health problems. Below is a partial extract from his resignation letter:
"Having taken on the role in unfortunate circumstances and intended very much as a stop gap until the then up-coming AGM, it's been the longest "three months" I can remember, but no less enjoyable for that.
I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the support you've given me over the past years and can say, without doubt, that, as a committee, you've been the hardest working committee that I can remember - and I can go back a long, long way.
With the new blood that's been introduced over recent years, together with the core of experienced "hands" already on board, and with Richard Case now coming forward to take on the secretarial duties, I'm sure that the future of the club is in good hands, as has been clearly demonstrated over the unprecedented recent months caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Also, I would finally say that although I'm stepping down, I'm not walking away and you all still have my contact details AND there's no way I'll be drinking anywhere else other than Llanharan Rugby Club and I'm looking forward to catching up with you over a pint, or two or..., when the lockdown restrictions allow."
The committee, supporters and players would like to thank Alan for his services to the club at a very difficult time. He has been involved With Llanharan RFC for well over 50 years as a player, chairman, supporter and secretary and has contributed more than his fair share to the bar takings during this time. We wish him well and look forward to seeing him fit and well in the clubhouse in the near future.
