Llanharan 20 Penarth 15

Llanharan playing up the slope in the first half went 3-0 down after Penarth kicked a penalty for not rolling away at a maul. Penarth then missed a penalty after some back chat from the home team. Scott Jones levelled the score with a penalty for Llanharan. The home team piled on the pressure but Penarth managed to hold out and came back with some pressure of their own. Back chat seemed to be a bug bear of the referee, ending with the Penarth centre getting 10 minutes in the bin for his words of wisdom. Penarth then scored a very debatable try when they kicked the ball in to their own man, collected it and scored. Llanharan got back in to the game when Scott Jones took a quick penalty on he Penarth try line and sent a pin point kick to the other side of the field, where the impressive Ryan Russell was waiting to score the try. Scott Jones converted.The referee's penchant for penalizing players for back chat took a new twist when he sent the Penarth water boy off.


Half Time: Llanharan 10 Penarth 8


Llanharan started the second half down the slope and immediately put pressure on the away team. Scott Jones kicked another penalty to make the score 13-8 to Llanharan. Both Llanharan flankers Jack Thomson and Lloyd Gregory worked tirelessly for the cause and Jack was rewarded for his efforts when a blindside move in the opponents 22 resulted in him showing great determination to score a try. Scott Jones converted to make the score 20-8 to Llanharan. Penarth never gave up and were rewarded for their efforts with a try and conversion in the last seconds of the game.
