Llanharan Colliery 1955

Writer's picture: KipKip

This post has nothing to do with rugby but i thought it would be interesting for the players in our Teams, from Mini to Senior, their parents, supporters and any newcomers to the village, who aren't aware of the history of Llanharan.

The first photo is a pic of Llanharan Colliery Pit Head Baths. As Max Boyce sings - It's a (Co op) supermarket now- and a Greggs.

The second photo is a detailed pic of Llanharan Colliery, taken off the top of the spoil tip that was behind the pit head baths. The North shaft nearest the camera and the South shaft over the road. March 1955.

Thanks to David Thomas for trhe info.
