With all the excitement surrounding our Senior Teams it's easy to forget the contribution of our Youth Team this season. So i asked Coach Dai" Scrum " McCallum how he thought the season had gone for the Youth:
Llanharan youth have had a busy and successful season. We have built a solid outfit retaining many of the previous years team and recruiting from the local area to make us a very competitive side.
This season we have been able to progress from Cardiff blues division 2 upto blues Championship, which goes to show how far the team has come, and the level we've played at.
The youth has also had representation at boys club of Wales level, putting llanharan RFC on the international stage.
Many of our last year youth boys have also represented the senior club with the spaniels, hopefully helping them win their league.
Finally, this year's youth side have been the first youth team to play abroad on an end of season tour where el toro of Mallorca hosted us, making club history.
Overall its been a great season and although we have not won any silver wear, the team's progression has resulted in a high standard being set. It has been an absolute pleasure, in the main coaching these young men, and I wish them all the best for the future.
I would like to thank the coaching and management team of Sam, Steve, arwel, Tyrone, oz, and Chris The rub, and all who have helped us along the journey.
Dai scrum McCallum
