Gareth has recovered from Saturday's nail biter of a match, to send us this report on the game:
St Albans match report 15/04/23
What a game!! Ebb and flow, back and forth, nail biting, coach killing, rugby. A 2 point win for Llanharan has managed, by the skin of their teeth, to keep the dairymen moving forward. The final score left both teams with a try bonus point, but more importantly, saw the dairymen come away with another 5 points to help their drive for promotion.
It was none other than Mr smoother than a spaniel’s ear, Scott Jones, who yet again proved he has balls the size of a space-hopper, who held his nerve to slot a penalty from the touchline to win the game with 1 minute left on the clock. This was the icing on the cake for the son of the nasal pleasure giver Kev Jones. His final tally of points was 20.
Other spectacular performances came from Ryan Russell, at full back. Who was a rock at the back and was absolutely solid under the high ball. This was despite being told his calf strain was psychosomatic, because he has no calf muscles, or any other muscles, come to think of it.
Ryan’s back 3 colleague, Alex Newbold also produced a performance of quality, varying his game well in attack and working hard to help his body double, Ryan Russell, in defence. His afternoon began well with a try after 2 minutes.
With the entire Llanharan crowd then thinking it was going to be a walk in the park, only to find, 80 minutes later, the Dairymen needed a penalty kick , followed by an earth shattering tackle by Jack Walker to finally win the game.
Andy Price, speaking while still attached to the defibrillator stated, Garnich has once again aaaagggghhhh pulled a rabbit from the aaaaaggggghhhhh hat.
Final score
Buns 30 something – Llan 30 something +2
