Chairman Hugh James and Vice Chair Chris Langdon attended a very special event at Dolau Primary school earlier this week. This is Chris Langdon's tribute to Gareth Evans:
Goodbye & thank you Gareth. Mr Evans, Gareth or Gareth Evans, most of us know him in one of those terms. Gareth has been a teaching stalwart in Dolau School for 34 years & Head Teacher for 27 of those years, I'm sure he doesn't want to, but he's finally retiring. As he mentioned in his speech today, 11 of last seasons Unbeatables are ex Dolau boys on his watch. The Ex Pentyrch scrum half has brought a lot of excellent rugby players & supporters to our club and has regularly been there to support Llanharan, even when we were playing his old club. I'm sure he found it hard, but I think he had Black & Blue colours in his heart due to the lads he's known for so long. Thank you Gareth for what you've given the village of Llanharan and good luck in whatever or whichever way you decide to enjoy the next phase of your life.
All the best from Llanharan RFC
