Tylorstown Match Report

Here is Gareth's latest report from the Tylorstown game. Happy 60th birthday to Gareth from all at Llanharan RFC.

Tylorstown Match Report 17/03/23

On an appalling night for any sport, Llanharan kept the train on the track with a high scoring win against a Tylorstown team that must be commended for having the courage to turn up with several 1st team players out.

There were several interesting points coming out of this game:

Firstly, Morgan Parsons produced a performance of quality. His lineout work was first class and his work rate around the field made it look like we had a back-row of 4 players. This, plus his hat trick of tries, all amounted to a motm performance. A great thing considering he has to ask Andy Price to tie his shoe laces.

Secondly, Sam Pritchard proved that front row forwards can do everything. He kicked for goal, took drop outs and made breaks. He showed a surprising turn of pace which was reminiscent of Alan Evans and Meirion Reynolds racing to be at the front of the queue for the after match food.

Thirdly, the referee celebrated his 11th birthday by showing 2 yellow cards to well known gangster and player whose dress sense rivals that of notorious dresser in the dark, Chris Langdon. Yes, its butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, Gethin Cashmore, the player who runs like his shorts are around his ankles.

Finally, there was the return of the cat’s pajamas himself. After 6 weeks hibernation after missing a conversion, Scott Jones made his comeback, and slotted in as if he’d never been away.

Due to the appalling weather, the referee and coaches deemed it sensible to finish the game early, with the final score being 45 – 5 in favour of the home side.
