Llanharan 13 Pentyrch 13

Llanharan started the game by playing down the slope but against the wind. Pentyrch nearly scored with in minutes of the kick off but Jack Pring saved the day only to be shown a yellow card for his effort. The away side weren't long taking the lead however, when a scrum near the Llanharan line ended with a back row move which gave Pentyrch the opening try. As the first half wore on the penalty count against the home team was mounting. In first half injury time Scott Jones kicked a penalty only for Pentyrch to reply with one of their own.

Half Time Score: Llanharan 3 Pentyrch 8

After 10 minutes of the second half, the crowd were treated to something you don't see very often in the modern game, a punch up with several players joining in

! When players of both sides finally settled down a Pentyrch player and Louis Stansbury from Llanharan were shown yellow cards. The game continued with both sides trying to play running rugby but with attacks breaking down due to handling errors. The next try was scored by Lloyd Thomas but you if asked anyone who was at the match how the try was given, you probably wont get any definitive answers. Scott Jones kicked the conversion to make the score 10-8 to the home team. Pressure from the away side led to them scoring another try, which went unconverted. Scott Jones kicked a penalty for Llanharan to level the scores at 13=13. The game as a spectacle was over by this point with both sides fairly happy with a draw.

Final Score: Llanharan 13 Pentyrch 13

To be honest this was not a memorable game of rugby, with both sides making far to many mistakes, not helped by some questionable decisions from the man in the middle. For Llanharan, Kyle Jones came on as a second half sub and impressed with his hard running with ball in hand. The points from the draw are welcome but Llanharan can play much better than this.
